Countries are opening tourism after a long lockdown due to COVID 19. Many countries are trying to attract travelers with varieties of offers and deals. However, Uzbekistan has introduced quite a unique offer wherein if a traveler gets Coronavirus during their visit to Uzbekistan will give them $3000 (INR 2,26,747).
Yes, Uzbekistan is offering such a big amount because it’s confident that no one will get the coronavirus here. The country has launched a campaign called “Safe Travel Guaranteed”, under which the country is offering visitors $3000 if they get infected with covid19 while exploring the Uzbekistan.
To treat the coronavirus, it costs nearly $3000 in Uzbekistan, that’s why the amount. To make it official, the President of the country, Shavkat Mirziyoyev also signed an official order on Tuesday.
Sophie Ibbotson, Uzbekistan’s tourism ambassador to the UK, said, “We want to reassure tourists they can come to Uzbekistan. The government is so confident about the hygiene and safety protocols being implemented all over the tourism sector which will protect travelers from coronavirus that the government is ready to put money: “If you get coronavirus on holiday in The country, we will compensate you.”
However, there are a few things you must know about this plan:
1) To get compensation of $3000, one must explore Uzbekistan with a local tour guide.
2) The tourist sites, hotels, and guides will have to get a certification from the local government showing they are following all the covid19 safety guidelines.
3) Uzbekistan is open to visitors from only low-risk zone countries, including South Korea, Israel, China, and japan
4) Traveler who is coming from the United Kingdom and Europe will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
Despite having a population of more than 33 million, Uzbekistan to date has recorded just 7228 Coronavirus positive cases and 20 deaths.
